Progress and change are hard combinations to digest. Practitioners in e-government know the results to date are but a starting point, yet these same results are several years old for the pioneering insiders who have worked long and hard to get us to this point on the service delivery front.

The project has reached adolescence and now needs some political parenting to ensure hale and hearty maturity. To obtain such direction, the federal government will need to support both unilateral and multilateral forums with a view to attracting and managing the relationships that are needed to accomplish the Canadian online agenda.

Lac Carling Governments’ Review will remain a crucial voice for such activities as it too grows into the awkward adolescence stage. I hope we can collectively avoid acne!
