Copernic Inc. of Montreal will have a new president and chief executive officer as of March 3.
The search software maker will be led by Marc Ferland, a former Rogers Communications vice-president and a director of Copernic. He will replace Martin Bouchard, who has quit for “personal reasons.”
Copernic’s products include Desktop Serarch, which retrieves and indexes data stored on hard drives and shared drives. It also includes tracking technology, which monitors Web pages and is designed to detect changes made to the status or contents.
Ferland is currently president of Gen24 Capital Inc. and Digifax Communications. In addition to Rogers Communications, where he was involved in the rollout of the Cantel wireless service in 1984, Ferland was a VP at Microcell Telecommunications Inc., which has since been acquired by Rogers.
