Learn how to achieve balance between performance and security

Go to Google any time and search “business cloud statistics,” or some variation thereof, and you’ll get pages upon pages of information that will lead you to a single conclusion: that companies around the world are moving to the cloud in droves. There is no if anymore when it comes to cloud, just when.

There may be some of a more traditional bent who distrust cloud, who believe the only way to ensure critical data is secure is by keeping it “on-prem.” However, there is no indication that cloud has any real deleterious effect on information security, and in fact can bring a host of benefits, including cost savings, increased flexibility and scalability, and more efficient allocation of IT resources.

This is not to say there are never any gaps between data security and the active pursuit of higher performance using some variation of cloud (e.g., hybrid). After all, no solution is perfect out of the box.

Smart organizations, however, know they need to do more than just move their data and workloads to the cloud. Once in the cloud, they begin working toward striking a balance — airtight security to go with their newfound, cloud-driven performance.

Join IT World Canada CIO Jim Love and Albert Kramer, Technical Director Canada, Trend Micro, for “Mind the Gap: Striking a Balance Between Cloud and Data Security.” In this webinar, Love and Kramer discuss new approaches to data security in the era of cloud, and the special challenges presented by a rapidly emerging Internet of Things ecosystem.
