The installation feature supports NetWare 4.11 and higher, and will be available for download at no charge for ZENworks for Servers 2 customers from www.novell.com/download. The public beta became available this month at http://support.novell.com/beta/public/. Novell Canada, in Markham, Ont., can be found on the Web at www.novell.ca.

At the same time, Dell and Oracle Corp. will establish a Linux Competency Center to provide their customers with a facility to view and test Oracle-based applications for Linux running on Dell’s Intel-based hardware, free of charge. The companies plan to deliver preconfigured Dell systems running Oracle to ease the management burden. Dell will offer “specific identifying skews” of server/software configurations for either small, medium, or enterprise-class businesses. Pricing will be announced during the spring product launch.
