of Santa Clara, Calif., is teaming up with Orem, Utah-based PowerQuest Corp. to help customers migrate, upgrade and install operating systems remotely across networks. Intel is combining its LANDesk Management Suite with PowerQuest’s PowerDeploy Suite, and together the products will be able to help customer remotely manage operating systems like Windows 2000 and Windows XP. The LANDesk Management Suite is a tool that allows IT professionals control desktop and network environments over the Web. The PowerDeploy Suite is a lifecycle management solution for computer systems. When merged, the two products help to automate system installation, minimize bandwidth and end-user impact. Sunnyvale, Calif.-based MiLAN Technology released the ShAir Office Fibre Module in July. The ShAir Office Fibre Module is a modular wireless networking solution that integrates fibre connectivity with resource sharing. According to the company, it extends network capabilities. The Fibre Module is capable of accommodating SC, ST and MT-RJ connector types and can extend LAN distances up to 100 km, the company said in press release. It functions as an Internet gateway, router, firewall, wireless hub, print server and remote access server. The wireless access portion of the product allows for up to 253 users. Pitney Bowes Office Systems

of Trumbull, Conn., released two multi-function digital printers in June. Targeted at companies with corporate intranets, the CD1500 and CD2000 are full colour printers and are available now. The CD1500 produces 15 pages-per-minute (ppm) and the CD2000 prints 20 ppm. According to the company, the variable cost per full colour page is as low as 12 cents (US). Key features include automatic calibration, 600 dots-per-inch (dpi) resolution and the ability to print full bleeds. The printers are also capable of automatic duplexing, stapling, hole punching and 10-bin mailbox sorting. The CD1500 is priced at US$13,999 and the CD2000 costs US$17,495.
