Jasmine ii, Neugents steal show

Wrapping an entire development and deployment platform around its object-oriented database, Computer Associates International Inc. has launched Jasmine ii.

During the recent CA-World 2000 user conference in New Orleans, the Islandia, N.Y.-based software company officially announced shipment of its “intelligent infrastructure” product that envelops its previous Jasmine database offering.

The company’s aiming this platform – which starts at US$2,000 -directly at the e-business world to enable Internet exchanges, portals and application service provider (ASP) efforts. It includes tools for application development, Web publishing, service-reporting and component-based application modelling, and can be integrated with such enterprise applications as SAP, Peoplesoft or Siebel.
