The inspector general’s office at the U.S. Department ofTransportation disclosed that a laptop PC containing the names,addresses, birth dates and Social Security numbers of 133,000Florida residents was stolen from a car in Doral, Fla., on July27.

Cisco Systems Inc. said it has invested US$50 million (C$56) inNuova Systems Inc., a startup in Santa Clara, Calif., that’sdeveloping unspecified data center products. The deal gives Ciscoan 80 percent stake in Nuova, which will become a majority-ownedsubsidiary of the networking giant.
