Intermec Technologies Corp. has announced a strategic partnership with Nextel Communications Inc. and ClickSoftware Technologies Ltd. to provide wireless connectivity and automatic schedule optimization for Intermec’s mobile work order management application, ArciTech.
According to the companies, through Intermec they will provide fully integrated hardware, software and communications services that automate information collection and reporting by field service and other mobile workers.
Intermec’s Windows CE-based ArciTech application runs on Intermec’s 602, 6110 or new 700 ruggedized pen computers. It guides service technicians step-by-step through daily activities to complete customer work orders, recording information such as parts used, time allocation (travel, wait, actively working), labour charges, services delivered or repairs made and funds collected from the customer.
