Consumer groups push for net neutrality rules
Three consumer groups repeated their calls for a U.S. law to prevent broadband providers from blocking or slowing customer access to some Internet content by saying the public wants government protection.
July 11, 2007 – Paul Bolbat of Woodridge, Ill., writes: Companies like Verizon simply saying they support Internet neutrality principles isn’t enough. The U.S. needs a high speed, open Internet. That can’t be left to the whims of the broadband providers. A national policy is needed to protect an open Internet.
