AXIS Auto-Go software automates the process of connecting printers to a network by configuring the network connection and installing the correct printer driver, according to Axis Communications Inc. When new printers or digital copiers are added to the network via an Axis print server, Auto-GO automatically discovers them. Also, Javascript Web pages provide detailed information and control over the print server and attached printers. The software is available for free download for existing AXIS 5400 and 5600 users, or comes with purchase of the servers. Axis in Chelmsford, Mass., is at (978) 614-2000 or on-line at www.axis.com.

Effnet Router On a Card (ROC) will have firewall capabilities early next year, according to Effnet.
