IBM Corp. today unveiled Lotus Quickr Content Integrator, a software tool designed to help IT managers create Web 2.0 applications such as wikis and blogs.
Big Blue describes the software as an alternative to Microsoft Corp.’s SharePoint. Lotus Quickr Content Integrator is designed to move data from SharePoint sites, Exchange folders, Lotus Domino Document Manager libraries and Lotus Domino team room applications, into “team places” so users can share it.
Companies can make content libraries, wikis, blogs and connectors for Office and Lotus Notes applications. IT has an administrative dashboard, which lets administrators sort and search places by type and owner. It also has a Quick Entry features that lets users share files without having to e-mail them as attachments.
