Former Intrinsyc chief is new Ignition Point CEO

Ignition Point Technologies Corp. has hired a 25-year veteran of the Vancouver high-tech industry tech as its new chief executive officer. Neil McDonnell, CEO of Intrinsyc Software Inc. former chief operating officer of TIR Systems Ltd., was hired by Ignition Point’s board to take over as CEO from chairman Michael Cytrynbaum.

Cytrynbaum has been interim CEO since June, when then-CEO Peter van der Gracht resigned.

Vancouver-based Ignition Point, which provides broadband technology services, owns TeraSpan Networks Inc., which manufactures a last mile fibre optic technology, dubbed Vertical Inlaid Fiber. VIF is touted as a method of reducing the cost of installing broadband services such as digital TV and Gigabit Ethernet.
