FollowFriday: Aspire to these amazing Canadian CIO Twitter bios

There are lots of ways to describe yourself on social media. You can give your job title. You can say who you work for. You can joke around a little bit. Or you can do all of those things and a little bit more.

A good example is Brunico Communciations’ Omri Tinpulver, who manages in Twitter’s limited character set to give enough personal and professional details that it would be easy to strike up a conversation with him, whether in the boardroom or on the golf course:

Humanist, Husband, Father, CIO, Entrepreneur, Photographer, Foodie, Golfer, Torontonian….

On the other hand, some Twitter bios are deliberately short but convey a sense of personal mantra. Take Nabil Harfoush, who spent a long time as a CIO in the health-care space and the Canadian education sector. His Twitter bio shows in just one sentence how he strives to approach his life and work:

Combining boomer’s wisdom with Net-Gen knowledge!

Of all the Canadian CIOs I know of on Twitter, though, Equitable Life of Canada’s Cam Crosbie‘s is probably my favourite:

Cam Crosbie

Be willing to sweep floors. Go further. Don’t take yourself too seriously – laugh a bit! And never, never, never give up.
