Exanet launches enhanced clustered NAS

Israeli storage firm Exanet has launched ExaStore Clustered NAS 2008, which has been “specifically enhanced” to manage exponential growth in data and storage requirements, president and CEO Arnon Gat said in a press release. The clustered network attached storage system uses Intel Quad Core processors and balances data across servers. Using virtualized storage, the NAS can store more than 128 billion files across a distributed file system under a single name space. According to the company, the system can scale to one exabyte (one million terabytes) online in real time, and can provision petabytes of data with existing applications. ExaStore can be attached over a Fibre Channel or SATA fabric.
