Enterprise Networks briefs

Peregrine Systems Inc. recently upgraded its asset management product suite to automatically discover network and telephony devices and to track contracts with service providers to see how well they are meeting service-level agreements. Peregrine’s asset management software also gives net managers a single point of control over network and telephony devices with the upgrades of AssetCenter Cable & Circuit and TeleCenter. With the addition of the Automated Inventory module, AssetCenter constantly updates any adds or changes to a network. Automated Discovery can track the performance and usage on mobile and wireless devices as well. All products are available now. Pricing depends on configuration: AssetCenter 3.6 costs from US$24,000 to $41,000; Automated Inventory costs $10 to $25 per device inventoried; AssetCenter Cable & Circuit 3.1 costs $28,500 to $50,000; and TeleCenter 3.5 starts at $22,500. Peregrine, in San Diego, is on the Web at www.peregrine.com.
