Don Tapscott’s sells consulting firm to U.S. shop

Canadian technology author Don Tapscott on Thursday announced the sale of his consulting company, New Paradigm, to a U.S. firm that focuses on so-called Enterprise 2.0 technologies.

Financial terms of the deal involving New Paradigm and BSG Alliance Corp. were not disclosed. Tapscott will remain chief executive of the New Paradigm business unit within BSG. New Paradigm has offices in Toronto, while Austin, Tex.-based BSG operates in New York, London, Boston and Houston.

New Paradigm was originally founded in 1993 and was previously branded as Digital4Sight. The firm became a way for Tapscott, co-author of Wikinomics and Growing Up Digital, to offer services based on the ideas in his work to enterprise companies. New Paradigm was also once merged for US$22 million with Itemus, an ill-fated incubator that later went into receivership.

BSG claims customers such as American Airlines, Johnson&Johnson & Marriott.
