Descartes snaps up Pacific Coast Tariff Bureau for $2.1-million

On-demand software-as-a-service provider Descartes Systems acquired today Pacific Coast Tariff Bureau (PCTB).

The Waterloo, Ontario-based company paid $2.1-million in cash for the PCTB, which is a tariff and contract publisher for ocean carriers, non-vessel operating common carriers, and shippers that need to jibe with American domestic and foreign shipping trade regulations. (The bureau also provides technology that aids in ocean contract and freight rate management.)

The acquisition of the San Francisco-based company will add to the roster of services offered by Descartes’ Global Logistics Network.
