Cisco CTO details 2013 strategy

Every year Cisco Systems Inc. meets with financial analysts to let them know its strategy for the coming year.

According to Network World U.S., at the latest session CTO Padmasree Warrior said the company plans to expand its managed services and consulting offerings. The report gives an interesting look into the company’s thinking.

Cisco has been branching out from routers and switches for some time, going into unified communications, servers and, most recently, integrating its technology to make so-called smart cities.

It’s not hard to see that one of the reasons why the company continues to be strong despite some wrong moves is its flexibility.

Warrior also repeated that Cisco wants to increase its attention on software.
