John D. Smith has been named Senior Vice-President and Chief Information Officer for Canada Post Corporation. Based in Ottawa, he will be charged with managing a unique set of relationships with a number of strategic technology partners to more effectively deliver universal and affordable postal services to all Canadians, including Canada Post On Line. Prior to the appointment, Smith was Vice President Information Technology for Cara Operations Ltd., Mississauga, Ont.
