Canadian e-waste council gets a new CEO

The Electronics Product Stewardship Council, which monitors the environmental impact of the Canadian IT and consumer electronics sectors, announced this week the appointment of a new CEO, Dalton Burger.

The position had been vacant since June. He started his term last week, and will be running the Council, which represents over 20 Canadian electronics manufacturers that are striving to design, promote, and implement more sustainable practices when it comes to end-of-life electronics recycling.

Burger was formerly corporate counsel and in charge of government relations with Honda, BMW, and Suzuki. He previously worked for the Department of Justice and the Competition Bureau.

He is also a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Canadian Bar Association.
