ECM 4.0 lets network administrators modify configuration settings on any machine using automated point-and-click functions and eases client deployment issues with a .Net-ready Web interface to allow authorized users to manage systems from anywhere through a Web browser. ECM supports Windows NT/2000 Server, NT Workstation 4.0, 2000 Professional, XP and Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and higher. Storage systems provider Quantum Corp. last month announced the Guardian 14000 Network Attached Storage (NAS) Server, designed to handle business-critical storage needs of enterprises. The first of Milpitas, Calif.-based Quantum’s Guardian offerings, the 14000 is powered by a Linux-based OS and offers multi-platform support for mixed Microsoft, Linux, Unix and Macintosh environments. The OS also supports Active Directory Service and Unix Network Information Service, which the company said makes for easy integration into enterprise networks. Guardian 14000 provides a raw capacity of 1.4TB in a 3U configuration, allowing users to fit almost 20TB of usable networked storage into a six-foot standard rack, Quantum said. Ottawa-based Solidum last month introduced PAX.port 2500T classification processor designed to perform wire-speed, full-content inspection and regular expression matching at OC-48. Solidum said the PAX.port 2500T is an Application Specific Standard Product (ASSP) that can be used in a streaming architecture to let users get multi-Gigabit packet processing and classification. It is optimized for Layer 7 content inspection and classification at OC-48 in Web switches and load balancers, multi-service switches, IP gateways, edge routers and fixed broadband wireless access stations.
