Last month, Internet solutions provider Pathway Communications announced Webdesk, its latest suite of intranet and collaboration tools, which the company says can be accessed anywhere through a standard browser like Explorer or Netscape. According to the Toronto-based company, Webdesk offers users secure access to applications such as e-mail, file storage and sharing, contact management, calendars, polls and internal newsgroups in and outside the office. Central Command in Medina, Ohio recently launched its newest antivirus application, which the company says has the unique ability to scan for viruses while files are being written or read. Vexira Antivirus for Windows offers protection for over 60,000 viruses and malicious applications including the infamous Nimda and Goner viruses, according to the company.
