When Stephen Richards was chief financial officer at E*TRADE Group, Inc., he helped to build the finance organization, develop corporate strategy and lead the company to a successful initial public offering. He also served as E*TRADE’s senior vice president for strategic development and senior vice president for electronic trading strategies. Now, as CFO and COO with Network Associates, Inc., he winces at the recollection of how little attention he paid to IT and security back then.
