Ipswich City Council in Queensland, Australia, will transform its supply chain, customer service, and workforce management operations in a project estimated at A$15 million.
The council has appointed outsourcer Capgemini to provide consulting services for the transformation project. According to Capgemini, the solution will be based on Oracle eBusiness Suite and will also involve collaboration with suppliers Kronos, Exor, and Obsidium.
Ipswich City Council Mayor, Councillor Paul Pisasale, said Capgemini’s capability and professionalism was demonstrated throughout the tender process and through its Accelerated Solutions Environment has been of benefit to the broader business transformation program.
“Capgemini demonstrated a deep understanding of Council and our requirements and we felt connected through the entire process,” Pisasale said. “The significant cost savings from this project will help us put more services back into the community.”
Phase I of the transformation project is expected to take about 12 months.
Capgemini Australia CEO Paul Thorley said the deal is a “significant win” in Queensland delivering end-to-end, integrated Oracle-based solutions.
“We worked collaboratively with Ipswich City Council in demonstrating our capability and providing services which support Council’s business strategy,” Thorley said. “Together, we found the best solutions possible through technology architecture and providing the key improvement initiatives which will support [the] council’s business over the next five years.”
