As the Weeworld Turns Who is Gina Lips?

She’s a CEO hopeful at a company whose business plan notes that its weaknesses are: it doesn’t know how to sell (yet); it doesn’t make any products; it doesn’t have any money. The company? Wee (Weird Exercise Equipment) Corp., a fictional startup company whose exploits can be followed at http://www.weeworld.com. Weekly installments document the misadventures of the leading characters: Bob Fence, Penny Pincher and Scott Cash, to name a few. The story of the startup is told through scenes in which speech bubbles representing the various characters come and go from the screen.

Weeworld is the brainchild of Interactive Kitchen, a multimedia business in Melbourne, Australia. Anna Johnson, creative director of Interactive Kitchen, says it created the send-up-of-all-things-businesslike site for amusement. The company hopes to eventually offer competitions and prizes on the site to encourage audience participation and to cleverly integrate sponsors into the story line. Log on to find out how this unlikely (and sort of unlikeable) company survives hacker attacks, greedy venture capitalists and blackmail letters. There is some mild profanity and risqu, comments. As the home page warns, it’s “For immature audiences.”
