Apple-Samsung trial: UofT profs testify

Here’s a roundup of what went on during Friday’s round of the trial, which increasingly pulls out interesting testimony.

Given that Apple and Samsung sell their products around the world, it should come as no surprise that the experts each call to the witness stand are global as well. As this report from SiliconValley.com details, on Friday two University of Toronto professors told the court a number of Samsung tablet and smartphone models infringed on three Apple patents.

Other publications covering the trial, which is at its half-way point, saw other important things. For example, Josh Lowensohn of Cnet, noted documents show Apple offered to licence its patents  to Samsung for a hefty sum. And Computerworld U.S. found documents that show Apple’s iPad outsells Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 by a wide margin.
