Adobe InDesign

Adobe Systems Incorporated announced this month it has begun shipping Adobe InDesign 1.5 the newest version of its layout and design program for the professional publisher. InDesign software is a state-of-the art page layout program created for high-end graphic designers, production artists, and prepress professionals that is able to integrate with Adobe’s other design programs. The software is based on a new, open, object-oriented architecture that enables Adobe and its industry partners to deliver a variety of publishing solutions. Registered customers of InDesign 1.0 software are qualified for an upgrade to the new version at an estimated street price of U.S. $29.95. Registered customers who purchased the Design Collection, which includes Adobe InDesign 1.0, are also eligible for this promotional upgrade price. The InDesign promotion is valid for 60 days beginning March 29, 2000 and is available direct from Adobe. Customers who purchase the upgrade from Adobe will receive free shipping. As previously announced, registered customers who purchased the original product on or after January 1, 2000 for the full estimated street price (an average of U.S. $699), rather than the introductory promotional price, will be offered an upgrade to version 1.5 at no cost. Also, in compliance with Adobe’s overall upgrade policy, all customers who purchase InDesign 1.0 on or after February 12, 2000, automatically qualify for a free upgrade to the new version. Adobe InDesign 1.5 is expected to have an estimated street price of U.S. $699 for customers who have not yet purchased InDesign 1.0.
