Acquisition expands Canadian e-business reach into perishable commodities

e-Auction Global Trading Inc., the parent company of aucxis corp., an e-business services provider to perishable commodity marketplaces, announced Wednesday that it has completed its acquisition of a private Dutch company, Kwatrobox B.V.

Kwatrobox B.V. is the parent company of Nieaf Systems B.V. and Automatiseringsbureau Palm B.V. With this acquisition, aucxis hopes to be able to provide its e-business services to even more auction houses, exporters and wholesalers in the perishable commodities industry, the company said in a press release.

The company said that by building on relationships in other perishable commodities (fish, fruit and vegetables), aucxis’ acquisition of Palm and Nieaf would create a bridge to develop a strong presence in the flower market.

According to aucxis, Palm and Nieaf have a combined operating history of 120 years focusing on providing the European flower industry with enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and electronic trading systems. This will be combined with their acquisition, earlier this year, of of Schelfhout Computer Systemen (SCS).

Together Nieaf and SCS have developed over 150 electronic trading systems and provide aucxis with a significant share of these systems in the European perishable commodity marketplace, the company said.

Palm and Nieaf will continue to maintain and grow relationships with their present client base and focus on expanding their market share in Europe while operating as subsidiaries of the parent company, company officials said.
