Ms. Catherine Boivie, as Senior Vice-President of Information Technology at Pacific Blue Cross, provides leadership and vision in the planning, development and management of technology initiatives throughout the company.
In 2003, during her eight years as Vice President of Information Services and Chief Information Officer for the British Columbia Automobile Association, Gartner, Inc. awarded Ms. Boivie the IT Executive of the Year Award for Midsize Enterprises.
Ms. Boivie is the founding chair of both the CIO Association of British Columbia and the CIO Association of Canada and Western Chair of the Couchiching Institute of Public Affairs.
Bridging the Gap between Technology and Business
Ms. Boivie opened the panel and working session with a presentation outlining two resources developed by the CIO Executive Council. Both are designed to help executives understand how IT impacts and organization’s financial and strategic performance; elevate mainstream understanding about IT and the role of the CIO; and demonstrate how the CIO can drive the organization’s revenue model.
