YouTube Fridays: Inside the data center powering Wolfram Alpha

I haven’t spent much time yet checking out Wolfram Alpha, the so-called “answer engine” that specializes in mathematical-related questions, but I think it’s a great idea in theory.

This clip provides some insight into the IT infrastructure that’s required to power the site, based on Dell hardware and one of the world’s largest supercomputer’s the wonderfully-named R-Smarr.
