YouTube Fridays: From IT manager to entrepreneur to spokesperson

If you make the leap from the IT department to starting your own business, you'll quickly realize how much marketing is involved.
 
For this man, creating an IT consultancy obviously required working with some other parties to handle some of his non-core tasks, including legal work, and this testimonial video serves as a sort of “horse's mouth” commercial. Not bad, but a little too scripted and you can tell he's looking at some cue cards in the background. This just goes to show that it pays to hone your marketing skills in-house, while you're still an IT manager, to sell business units on your strategy before you have to start marketing your own products and services — or someone else's.
