Wi-LAN starts year in red

Broadband wireless patent developer Wi-LAN Inc. continues to bleed red ink. The Ottawa company said Thursday it suffered a GAAP net loss of $3.8 million for its first quarter, which ended Jan. 31, as compared to a GAAP net loss of $1.9 million or 2 cents per share in Q1 2008. Revenues
