F5 Networks Inc. of Seattle announced Tuesday it is offering customers the Splunk IT Search engine on its BIG IP and Firepass hardware.
The vendors claim the Splunk software can search from any server or network device and find potential threats.
Network administrators can install it on the BIG IP Application Security Manager and search for the top violations, top attackers, top Web applications attacked, alerted or blocked. It can break down these figures by protocol (HTTP, FTP and SMTP) and location.
When used with the FirePass SSL VPN, administrators can get statistics on users, browsers, operating systems and configuration changes. It also provide statistics on failed logon attempts.
The Splunk search software for F5 gear is available for download at Splunk’s Web site.
