Thebest practices document is geared toward skimming scams, which is amethod that criminals use to capture card data without authorization.The stolen information is often sold for use on the black market.
ThePCI document goes into great detail on how to spot a variety of attacktechniques. The document also includes pictures to go along with manyof the tips. The images will help retailers spot keyloggers, tamperedscrews on card terminals, and other skimiming accessories.
The document also offers a self-assessment questionnaire for retailers to looking to gauge the risk of a potential attack.
