More on HP’s channel chief departure

HPCanada (NYSE: HPQ) president Paul Tsaparis sent a prepared statement to CDN confirming that Greg Chappell would be stepping down as Canadian channel leaderas of February 19, 2010.

Charles Salameh, vice-president and general manager for HP Canada’s Personal Systems Group (PSG) will oversee theSolution Partners Organization until a suitable replacement isfound. Salameh will be reporting Tsaparis and Lloyd Bryant, vice-president and GM of IPG in Canada.

The search for Chappell's replacement has already started and will include internal and external candidates.

“HPremains laser-focused on continuing to strengthen relationships withits partners by driving greater simplicity in our channel programs,higher predictability in our sales engagements and tighter alignmentacross its channel and regional sales resources. HP remains absolutelycommitted to the channel,” Tsaparis said.

Interesting statement to say the least, but what's missing is the Why?
