Exfo Electro-Optical Engineering Inc. has a new end-to-end solution for IP video service assurance. Called BrixVision, it is aimed at helping telecom operators (telcos), cable multiservice operators (MSOs) and broadcast video providers ensure that their subscribers recieve quality streaming video.

Integrating the triple-play capabilities of Quebec City-based Exfo's BrixWorx, this solution provides an open service assurance environment built on a common platform for voice, video and data networks. BrixVision also allows providers to consolidate their multiservice monitoring investments on a single platform in order to improve operational efficiency and reduce operational expenditures.BrixVision integrates with a wide variety of third-party provisioning, fault management and trouble-ticketing systems to improve operational efficiencies, validate performance and quality levels, and continually ensure the overall success of an IPTV service.

The solution supports over-the-top (OTT) IP video service assurance, letting providers to monitor the availability and quality of their video services over their content delivery network (CDN). The capability also allows service providers to assure IP video services transferred over the Internet with the same powerful tools they use to monitor their private networks.
