While the rest of the world waits anxiously for Windows 7, Shark Tales has a breaking news alert about an even more sought-after software package: Ashampoo Office 2008!
If you’ve never heard of Ashampoo, the Oldenburg, Germany-based firm’s Web site claims it has more than eight million customers. With that kind of popularity you’d think Ashampoo would have the R&D resources to get its product out the door. Alas, no:
“Due to problems of software development, we will not be able to deliver Ashampoo Office 2008 on 2nd of February. Instead we will deliver Ashampoo Core Tuner — actually a sales version — as full version after e-mail registration, including an upgrade offer to Ashampoo WinOptimizer 6 at the same date of availability,” a flack told us via e-mail. “We will let you know the new date of availability (for) Ashampoo Office 2008 as soon as possible.”
Ah, software development problems. Every time you think you’ve solved them you realized you’ve just scratched the surface and there’s a whole lot more. Kind of like dandruff.
