Get your GovSym on

Published: November 3rd, 2009
I'm happy to announce that after an amazing event earlier this year, we're bringing back a high-profile IT security event for Canadian public sector professionals.
The text below comes from an invitation letter I sent out this week to those who attended the last conference. I'm especially excited about our exclusive keynote speaker. Read on, and if you're interested you can register at the GovSym landing page, which will be expanded into a more comprehensive site very, very soon.

On behalf of this year’s Advisory Committee, we cordially invite you to attend the 2nd annual GOVSYM, a full day of information protection and security sessions to take place at the Lac Leamy Hotel in Gatineau.

This year’s theme embraces the concept that “People are the new perimeter.” The symposium entails plenary sessions and two tracks.

The first is the Technology Management Forum that focuses on best practices and usage of influential IT systems and solutions that help protect information.

The second is the Executive Summit that focuses on emerging business trends and government IT challenges that are affecting the public sector C-level and executive programming decision-making process.

Please mark this date in your calendar. The global CEO of Symantec, Enrique Salem is this year’s keynote. The full agenda and your complimentary registration is available at

Thank you for attending the inaugural event last year and we look forward to sharing updates and in-depth conversation with you December 1 at this year’s GOVSYM.
