Android arrived in Canada yesterday via the new HTC Dream and HTC Magic. Both phones are available immediately through Rogers Wireless, with pricing starting at $149.99 with a three-year contract. Rogers is offering a $30 6GB monthly data plan for those who purchase one of the two phones before July 1, 2009.

There are 3,200 apps currently available for Google’s mobile platform through the Android Market.

Fringe TV star Joshua Jackson was in Toronto this week to help Rogers promote the handsets. Watch editor Dave Webb’s video coverage below for excerpts from yesterday’s launch event or read his story, “Joshua Jackson helps Rogers launch Android.”
