EXFO Electro-Optical Engineering hasintegrated multiservice testing capabilities across its portfolio oftransport and datacom modules, which it says enables comprehensive andsimultaneous per-service measurements for more efficient QoS assessmentand SLA validation. The Quebec City-based company said these new test functions allow service providers tosimultaneously test up to 10 different service applications withdifferent QoS levels, based on Ethernet and IP parameters such as VLANID (802.1Q), VLAN priority (802.1p), VLAN stacking (802.1ad Q-in-Q),ToS and differentiated services code points (DSCP). Specific serviceprofiles including voice-over-IP (VoIP), video and data can be appliedfor quick and easy test configurations. All critical testparameters-throughput, latency, frame loss and packet jitter (RFC3393)-are accessible simultaneously for each stream, allowing fast andin-depth qualification of all SLA criteria. These enhanced capabilitiesare offered with all Packet Blazer and Transport Blazer test modules, including the FTB-8510B, FTB-8510G, FTB-8525/8535 andFTB-8120NGE/8130NGE test modules, which are housed in the newlylaunched FTB-500 Platform or in the FTB-200 Compact Platform. They arealso supported by the recently released RTU-310 and RTU-310G IPServices Ethernet Test Heads, purposely built for centralized carrierEthernet and mobile backhaul servicetesting.
