Digital asset management from Daydream-Wowza partnership

England-based digital asset management specialist Daydream announced a partnership with Wowza Media Systems to provide digital asset management services aimed at enterprises.

Daydream will use the Evergreen, Colorado-based streaming media software vendor’s Wowza Media Server Pro as a streaming technology that will power advanced logging and timeline metadata functionality via its FocusOPEN DAM platform.

Ralph Windsor, managing director for Daydream, said that the company tested a number of open and closed source streaming servers. Prior to choosing Wowza technology, Windsor said options were “severely constrained and the limitations or high costs posed problems for the ongoing development of FocusOPEN.”

Additionally, Wowza’s support for H.264 was, according to Windsor, “very significant and has enabled us to deliver production quality Web-based media asset management tools” via its FocusOPEN platform.
