In the lead-up to the 2010 Winter Olympic andParalymic Games in Vancouver and Whistler, British Columbia in the New Year thetorch relay is winding its way across Canada. And if members of the channelwere in New Brunswick recently as the torch made its way through the provincethey have have recognized one of the torch bearers: Michael Schwab.

Schwab, the co-president of D&H Distributing,carried the torch on November 25th during a stretch of the relaythat took it through Oromocto, New Brunswick. The channel connection to thetorch relay came on the 27th day of the ongoing run that began inOctober 30th in Victoria and will take the flame over 45,000kilometres for 106 days, finally ending in Vancouver on February 12thfor the Olympic opening ceremonies.

Schwab got involved in the torch run when AcerAmerica Corp., a global Olympic sponsor, provided the opportunity toparticipate in this event. The torchthat Michael carried is now on display in the lobby of D&H’s Harrisburg,Penn. headquarters. 

“I feel honored and beyond lucky to be able torepresent D&H from both the Canadian and the US perspective for the OlympicTorch Relay,” said Schwab. “The Olympicsrepresent a drive toward excellence, achievement and global unity, values thatall nations and organizations support.
