CMIS should make Open Text ECM mashups richer, faster, the company said

Open Text Corp. said it will support the new Content Management Interoperability Services (CMIS) standard announced today by a group of enterprise content management companies.

The new open standard was developed to provide novel ways for developers to build content applications that work with content repositories from different vendors.

CMIS will allow Open Text to deliver enterprise content mashups that are faster and richer, the company said. For instance, the CMIS prototype for SAP applications is one way that the standard can be used to expose a CMIS interface to Open Text’s own applications as well as those of third parties.
