Technology publisher Tim O'Reilly has proposed that a code of conduct be adopted by the blogging community. Fellow blogger Douglas Schweitzer is on board with the idea,but has some concerns about the draft proposal. Bonnie Erbe doubts it would work. Here's our take on it: with success comes responsibility. Blogging has become an extension of mass media and should, therefore, be held to the same ethical standards and responsibilityimposed on print and broadcast journalists.That the blogging community is realizing the need for a self-imposed code of conduct is a step in the right direction. After all, admitting you have a problem is always the first step.
