Balsillie unveils more hockey team plans Terrible

Jim Balsillie, co-chief executive officer of Research in MotionLtd., has announced more details of his plans to bring a NationalHockey League team to Hamilton, Ont.

On Friday he announced a plan to spend $150 million on CoppsColiseum, to include a new rink surface, ice plant, climate control,lobby and main concourse.

The proposal also calls for 50 mid-level private suites and 20 “bunker suites”, plus new club locker rooms.

Balsillie has agreed to buy the Phoenix Coyotes for US$212 millionon condition the team be moved to Canada. However the NHL opposes themove and the team is operating under bankruptcy protection.
