Wireless world faces security hurdles

Toronto-based Diversinet Corp. has been developing security solutions for wireless device makers, wireless network operators, application service providers and application software developers for about three years. Its security infrastructure product has been optimized for the wireless world, according to the company’s vice-president of sales and marketing, Verne Meredith. Diversinet recently announced that Novatel Wireless Inc. will be integrating its security technology with the Wireless’ Minstrel family of wireless modems for Palms. ComputerWorld Canada contributor Cindy Steinman recently had the opportunity to speak with Meredith about his views on wireless security, and where he sees the technology heading down the road.
