Vodafone to buy US$973-million stake in Mexico’s Iusacell

Continuing an aggressive acquisition spree, Vodafone Group PLC has agreed to buy 34.5 per cent of Mexican telecommunications company Grupo Iusacell SA de CV for US$973.4 million.

The Mexican company announced Friday that one of its principal shareholders, Grupo Peralta, and associated individual investors, have agreed to sell the stake to Vodafone.

The transaction is subject to regulatory approval by the Comisi
