HP targets manufacturers with alliances

Hewlett-Packard Company (HP) has recently announced two global alliances to jointly develop and deliver collaborative solutions for customers in the manufacturing sector.

A proposed solution from an alliance with PwC Consulting, a business of PricewaterhouseCoopers, is the Rapid Supply Chain Collaboration Hub which HP and PwC say will help improve efficiency between manufacturing companies, their suppliers and contract manufacturers by reducing inventory, improving flexibility and increasing supply chain transparency via Internet-enabled functionality.

Also as part of HP’s Partner Enablement Program to help manufacturing customers enjoy the faster connection, management and collaboration of key partners in an e-business framework, HP has teamed with Deloitte Consulting. This alliance will centre on product lifecycle collaboration (PLC), a framework to support collaborative product development and lifecycle management, the two companies recently announced.
