First up trending on LinkedIn, California-based startup CNEX Labs, which is backed by Microsoft and Dell, has alleged Huawei for engaging in a plan to steal its semiconductor technology. The Chinese smartphone giant’s lawyer denied the allegations, and alleged last year the company, which is owned by a former Huawei employee, of stealing trade secrets. The tech dispute involves solid-state drive storage technology, which allows massive data centres to manage information generated by artificial intelligence and other advanced applications.

Next up on Reddit, state treasurers from Illinois, Rhode Island and Pennsylvania, and New York City’s Comptroller filed a proposal on Wednesday to remove Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg as chairman of the social media company. A similar proposal was made last year but was defeated, though Rhode Island State Treasurer Seth Magaziner said the proposal was still worth filing because it draws attention to Facebook’s ever-growing problems and how to solve them.
The proposal, meant for Facebook’s annual shareholder meeting in May 2019, asks that there be an independent board chair for more transparency.

Finally on Reddit, Salesforce’s CEO Marc Beinoff is calling out fellow San Francisco billionaires for hoarding money and not wanting to help the homeless. The CEO told UK publication The Guardian that Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey doesn’t want to give any of his money to help people. Beinoff has been recently calling our major tech leaders and its caused a bit of a kerfuffle in the tech industry, which for the most part has stuck together on many issues. The spat comes from Proposition C, a ballot that would tax large businesses in San Francisco in order to help fix an expanding humanitarian crisis in the city.
