Newly launched Intelliden Corp. – which has been in ‘stealth mode” for the last two years – has announced the availability of its first two products in its R-Series software suite. The Intelliden R10 software solution provides a Web-based interface for element management, while the R30 software offering provides an XML over Java applications programming interface (API) to connect operations support systems. The R10’s GUI and the R30’s API help network managers to control and configure network elements as well as configure and control various heterogeneous LAN switches and routers from a single, unified control plane. The company says that its R-Series of products will enable a company’s business rules to drive the configuration and management of its devices on the network. Pricing for the offerings was not available at press time. Intelliden, based in Colorado Springs, Colo., is online at http://www.intelliden.com.

3Com Corp. last month announced its OfficeConnect Cable/DSL Gateway, which enables companies to share existing broadband connections for Internet access and provides simultaneous Internet access for multiple users. The product connects to an existing DSL or cable modem through an Ethernet cable, and features an integrated switch with four Ethernet/Fast Ethernet LAN ports. In order to ensure simple installation, the gateway detects what type of Ethernet cable is being used and will automatically adapt in order to make the proper connection. Users can also connect through any port to connect the existing office Ethernet LAN. The product also features security through firewall capabilities, protecting against denial-of-service (DoS) attacks. The 3Com Office Connect Cable/DSL Gateway is available now. The product’s list price is $232.50. For more information, visit the company’s Canadian Web site at http://www.3com.ca.
